About the Charity for the Poor of the Town

The objective of the charity is the relief of poor persons resident in the area of benefit who are in need, hardship or distress.  The trustees may relieve persons in need by making grants of money to them; providing or paying for goods, services or facilities for them; or by making a grant of  money to other persons or bodies who provide goods, services or facilities for those in need.  In exceptional circumstances the trustees may decide to assist a young person who is outside the area of benefit or who is a temporary resident in the area of benefit.  To apply for a grant please contact the Clerk.
